Note: The new hire rate is calculated by dividing the number of new hires during the period by the total number of employees. Interns and apprentices are not included.

Breaking down new hires by age groups, there was a 10-percentage-point drop in the under-30 age group, reflecting the fact that interns and apprentices are no longer included in the number of new hires. The 30-50 age group also fell by 1 percentage point compared to 2023, while the over-50 age group remained stable.

In 2024, the number of hires was 3.7% higher than in 2023. The highest number of new hires was in the under-30 age group, followed by professionals between 30 and 50 years old (up 3 percentage points from 2023). The over-50 age group saw the fewest new hires.

*The rate is calculated by dividing the number of departures by the number of people in the workforce.

In 2024, the age group with the most departures was the under 30s, followed by employees between 30 and 50, and finally employees over 50 (an age group that saw a 5% reduction in departures compared to 2023). The number of employees who left Klabin, by age group, matched the total distribution of employees by age.

The turnover rate decreased in four of the five Brazilian regions where Klabin operates in 2024, compared to 2023 (by 10% in the Northeast, 4% in the South, 2% in the North and 2% in the Southeast). Only the Midwest saw an increase compared to 2023, rising from 22% to 28%, which can be explained by the expansion of job opportunities in the region. According to data from the Labor Ministry, average turnover in the industrial sector in the municipality of Rio Verde was 40% in 2024, driven by higher pay than the market average in agribusiness during the harvest period, which contributed to resignations.
