Klabin's culture

Klabin’s distinctive model, which combines valuing and caring for people together with economic growth and higher levels of productivity and job satisfaction

In 2024, Klabin updated its organizational culture. This move included consolidating its Mission and Vision and revamping the Klabin Attitude, together with its accompanying Values and Competencies, reflecting the Company’s present circumstances and linking its culture to the behaviors and principles that underpin its operations.

This initiative is essential to clarify the Company’s common goal, ensuring team cohesion to achieve objectives and align employees on what is expected of them. The Klabin Attitude is part of the Performance Evaluation process, which is applied to certain Klabin employees annually. Find out more in the Professional Management and Engagement section.

Evolution of managers’ perceptions of the Klabin Culture

In 2024, to launch Klabin’s new Attitude, the Company created focus groups featuring representatives of its different businesses. Leaders were consulted on the values and behaviors they consider necessary to implement the strategy and took a specific survey that gauged their own strategic alignment. This survey, which involved 160 managers, showed a high degree of convergence in the perceptions of managers and directors, including aspects related to culture.

In 2024, Klabin conducted a 100% online and confidential climate survey, with the support of Korn Ferry consulting, with the aim of analyzing progress and opportunities for us to work on in 2025. This edition of the biennial climate survey had 14,403 respondents from different age groups, locations, positions, lengths of service, and business segments.

The Company achieved a record 90% participation rate and 78% overall favorability, down 3 percentage points from the 2022 climate survey, but 1 percentage point above the market average among companies in the sector.

Some of the topics covered by the survey include:

Topic Question
Job satisfaction Klabin motivates me to give my best at work

Purpose I have a clear idea of the results expected of me in my work
Happiness I have a balance between my professional and personal life

Stress I perceive that Klabin cares about the health and well-being of employees

The survey highlighted the inclusion of the following topics: customer focus, safety, clarity and alignment, and strategy execution.  Within these criteria, the overall favorability rating for both was 85%. This year, our main challenges were factors related to meritocracy and leadership.

Examples of topics covered by the Climate survey include: Job Satisfaction (assessed by questions such as “Klabin motivates me to give my best at work. “), Purpose (”I understand how my activities contribute to Klabin's results.“), Happiness (”I am able to balance my personal and professional life in the face of recurring work demands.“) and Stress (”I believe that Klabin cares about people's health and well-being.").

The survey also assessed the favorability of Klabin Attitude competencies (Adaptability, Efficiency, Leadership, and Teamwork), achieving 76% favorability. The objective was to verify initial perceptions and understand the next steps for sustaining the culture based on Klabin Attitude, including a focus on Leadership and Efficiency competencies in 2025.

This result was the consequence of a robust action plan, implemented with the leadership of managers and internal initiatives aimed at cultural evolution. The results were shared with the teams and the action plans for the areas are being developed throughout the year with governance, to understand the evolution of the themes. The company's Corporate Plan to continue pursuing the evolution of culture and climate stands out.
