Note: The reported volume of 4.4 million metric tons of “standing timber” refers exclusively to timber purchased from third parties. Under this arrangement, Klabin acquires the rights to harvest and transport trees cultivated by external producers, which are not located on the Company’s own land. This figure does not include the standing timber inventory on Klabin’s own properties—comprising forests at various stages of growth and maturity—nor does it account for the volume associated with the Caetê Project, which represents a significant portion of Klabin’s forestry asset base.

Klabin is a leader in responsible management, having set aside 41% of its forestlands for conservation and biodiversity maintenance. The wood used to produce pulp, paper and packaging, or sold on the market, comes from planted pine and eucalyptus forests, which are part of an integrated value chain. Klabin's planted forests have one of the highest productivity rates in the world and are located close to the plants, which makes the Company's operations highly competitive.

In addition to its own wood, the Company invests in the development of other producers in the regions where it operates, through the Plante com a Klabin Program. This initiative benefits the entire production chain by enhancing income distribution and avoiding the concentration of all available timber in the Company's hands. It also actively develops forestry and harvesting service providers while promoting economic diversification for producers within the same properties.

Klabin has integrated advanced supply planning concepts, including Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE), and a Control Tower (a system designed to provide logistics intelligence and integration) into its processes. These initiatives contribute to collaborative planning, whereby forestry areas work together with strategic focal points at manufacturing units. This approach increases the predictability and accuracy of plans in relation to financial and sustainability indicators, as well as improving budget adherence to strategic guidelines.

In 2024, Klabin acquired Arauco's forest assets and land in Paraná, through the Caetê Project. The Company incorporated 150,000 hectares of land, 85,000 of which are productive. The main economic impact will be a reduction in costs, mainly due to lower third-party wood costs. Thanks to this acquisition, Klabin is now able to supply 75% of its total demand with certified wood.

The Company has revised its internal goal for certified wood use, reducing it from 100% to 75%, meaning that it now depends on the market for just 25% of its wood supplies. It is important to note that even when it is not certified, all the wood received by Klabin is assessed according to the criteria and parameters of the FSC® and PEFC systems. This process strengthens the sustainability of the chain of custody, in addition to complying with legal requirements and certification standards.
