All operations in forest areas managed by Klabin are guided by the principles and criteria of FSC® and PEFC certification standards.

In the Company’s current expansion context, the inclusion of new areas is carried out cautiously and only after a thorough assessment of documentation, geospatial data, and field inspections. The strategy for incorporating new areas into the certification scope is based on supply planning aligned with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) approach. This process fosters more collaborative planning, enabling the effective participation of all relevant areas.

Geoprocessing and forest asset protection

Klabin holds approximately 910,000 hectares of forestland — owned, leased, or otherwise managed by the Company — distributed across the states of Paraná, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. The extent of the certified area reflects the scale of Klabin’s commitment to responsible management. Of this total, 744,026.92 hectares are currently certified.

The Company also employs geospatial technologies and remote sensing solutions to gather information about its forest assets. With Planet, LiDAR, and the ESRI Platform technologies, Klabin continuously tracks its forests and operations, including activities conducted on third-party properties. Image acquisition through Planet enables the monthly monitoring of biological assets, including conservation areas, supporting the landscape management model adopted by the Company.

LiDAR technology provides detailed digital models of the Company’s forests, enabling teams to track and monitor changes over time. The data is processed through the ESRI platform, and the resulting information is shared with local communities to support initiatives designed to enhance resilience to the impacts of climate change.

Chain of Custody and internal audits

The objective of the Chain of Custody (CoC) system is to ensure end-to-end traceability of forest-based products throughout the supply chain, assuring their sustainable origin in accordance with the rigorous standards of FSC® and PEFC certification.

Klabin conducts annual internal Chain of Custody audits to verify that its processes, controls, and records comply with applicable certification requirements. In addition, the system is subject to external third-party audits conducted by certification bodies to assess the Company's compliance with FSC® and PEFC Chain of Custody standards.

Controlled Wood

For Controlled Wood, Klabin applies a due diligence system that includes a document-based assessment of 100% of its suppliers to verify the legal, environmental, and social compliance of the supplied material. In addition, field inspections, conducted based on risk criteria, are carried out to validate the findings of the document assessments and verify compliance with FSC® and PEFC requirements. These assessments are performed by qualified professionals who receive ongoing training to stay up to date with applicable regulatory requirements. Any deviations identified are addressed and monitored. If non-conformities are not adequately resolved, wood supplies are suspended until the required corrective actions have been implemented. These assessments are conducted by qualified professionals who stay up to date with current regulatory requirements.

Certification for Wood Producers

Klabin supports local producers in obtaining forest management certification by providing specialized assistance for the FSC® SLIMF standard.

The initiative began in 2013, when Klabin joined other companies in Brazil’s pulp, paper, and packaging sectors in a collaborative effort led by FSC Brazil, WWF-Brazil, and the Federal University of Viçosa to encourage and support small-scale producers in achieving certification. As a result, the Forest Producer Certification Program was established in Paraná with the GPMT (Middle Tibagi Producer Group) and in Santa Catarina with the PSC (Certified Highland Producers) group. By 2025, the program had certified 424 properties.

Note: In 2025, the FSC® SLIMF Standard was replaced by the FSC Forest Management Standard for Plantations in Brazil.

In 2025, PCK contracting under the Seedling Exchange scheme (which includes the supply of seedlings and ant control products) and the Purchase and Price Guarantee scheme (under which no inputs are supplied, only a guaranteed minimum price for future delivery) was limited to Santa Catarina.

In Paraná, most contracts were executed under the seedling exchange modality, resulting in a significantly lower investment value than under the input and service exchange modalities.

The Klabin Transforma Matas Legais (Klabin Legal Forest Transformation) project, developed in partnership with Apremavi, aims to conserve and restore native forest remnants, enhance local quality of life, and promote more sustainable land and forest management through integrated planning at the property and landscape levels. The initiative encompasses the conservation of Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs), the cultivation of native and exotic tree species, the implementation of agroforestry systems, and the promotion of organic farming and ecotourism. For more information, visit https://klabin.com.br/sustentabilidade/comunidade-e-sociedade/desenvolvimento-local.

In 2024 and 2025, the Matas Legais (Legal Forests) PR Program focused on rural properties participating in the Ecological Corridors component of the PBAI (Basic Indigenous Environmental Program).

In Santa Catarina, the Social and Legal Forest Programs were carried out jointly throughout 2025, integrating social and environmental actions implemented concurrently on participating properties.

Plante com a Klabin is a forestry partnership program designed for small, medium, and large rural landowners. Through the initiative, participants are invited to take part in the Company's forest expansion efforts by cultivating pine and eucalyptus plantations, while integrating forestry activities with other land uses on their properties. All program participants are also encouraged to join the Matas Legais (Legal Forests) Program, which supports the environmental and cadastral regularization of rural properties, as well as the Small Producers Certification Program.

Klabin places great importance on certifications granted by independent organizations, as they attest to the quality and credibility of its products and reinforce the Company's commitment to continuous improvement. These certifications also validate the best practices of social and environmental responsibility adopted in our processes and products.

These certifications reflect the Company's pioneering approach to meeting customer needs and anticipating market trends. In 1998, Klabin became the first company in the forestry sector in the Southern Hemisphere to obtain FSC® certification (FSC-C022516) from the Forest Stewardship Council® for its forest operations. It was also the first company worldwide to certify non-timber forest products, ensuring the origin of the raw materials used in its products. In 2025, Klabin marked 27 years of FSC® certification.

In 2017, Klabin's forestry operations in Paraná achieved Cerflor certification (PEFC/28-22-17), under the Brazilian Forest Certification Program. Accredited by Inmetro and internationally recognized by the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), the certification further reinforces the Company's commitment to responsible forest management.

This commitment extends throughout the entire production chain, as producers participating in the Plant with Klabin program are encouraged and supported in obtaining certification through the Small and Medium Producer Certification Program
